Timothy Graves

Designed and made in his workshop in Kennington, Timothy Graves has created a new collection of lamps. The collection has been produced from a respect and love of materials as well as an appreciation of precedent good design.

The collection is made up of lanterns, wall lights, table lights, pendants and mirrors, working in patinated metals, glass and wood. Part of the collection is made in collaboration with Emma Peascod, who gilds glass with a combination of materials including gold, copper, silver and fine japanese papers.

Timothy studied sculpture in London, Vienna and the American Mid-West where as an artist he enjoyed the freedom and luxury to experiment and consciously engage with the things that form our everyday environment. He then went on to work with The David Turner Workshop before establishing his own workshop in Kennington, near the Imperial War Museum, where he makes and restores lighting for interior designers, architects and the antiques trade. Through the processes of restoration, he has gained a knowledge and understanding of how things are made, from the nuts and bolts of assemblage, to the form and proportion of the design, which informs his craft today.
